Mazda6 - the third update of the third generation of the model submitted in November 2017 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Changes in the design are minimal: Chrome-plated "lids" encircling the radiator grille "went" under the headlights, the grille itself received a fine-meshed structure, the front bumper became less "aggressive", the pattern of the rear lights changed. Inside, there are new finishing materials, upgraded seats with optional ventilation, improved noise and vibration isolation, as well as additional options. So, for older trim levels, decorative wooden inserts, soft Nappa leather, as well as an updated i-ACTIVESENSE security system complex, which received the latest all-round visibility system and adaptive cruise control with the ability to completely stop and automatically continue driving, are now available.

The front panel has a minimalistic design. The dashboard was left without deep "wells", the tachometer needle in the inactive state is now directed at "five o'clock", and in expensive trim levels the speedometer and adjacent scales are drawn on a 7-inch display. In addition, the 8-inch display of the media system has become more contrasting, while the projection available for a fee is no longer displayed on the retractable glass, but directly on the windshield.

The main innovation in terms of technology is that the Skyactiv-G 2.5T gasoline turbo engine from the crossover has been added to the engine range of the top trim levels of the American Mazda6 Mazda CX-9.  On gasoline with an octane rating of 98, such a unit develops 250 hp. and 420 N m, and on the "92nd" - 227 hp In addition, in the US, the updated sedan will be available with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine (192 hp) - this power unit was installed on the Mazda6 before, but the car of the new model year received an upgraded unit with reduced friction losses and a two-cylinder deactivation system at low loads at speeds from 40 to 80 km/h.

The atmospheric engine of the American version of the "Six" is combined with a 6-speed "mechanics" and with an "automatic" of a similar range, while a new turbo engine for the model is exclusively with automatic transmission. The suspension has been retuned for a smoother ride, the rear wheel arm mounts have been strengthened, and the steering system has been retuned to provide crisper steering feedback.
