Mazda MX-5 (ND) — fourth generation Mazda MX-5. The official premiere of this iteration of the model took place in September 2014, and the public presentation took place in October of the same year at the Paris Motor Show. In Japan, the car is known as the Mazda Roadster, and in the US it is sold as the Mazda MX-5 Miata. In addition, the Fiat 124 Spider, introduced in 2016, is built on the same platform as the Mazda MX-5 (ND).

The Mazda MX-5 (ND) is a two-seat, rear-wheel drive roadster. Initially, the car was produced only with a soft folding top, but in 2016 the Mazda MX-5 RF (Retractable Fastback) appeared - a targa with a hard folding roof and a massive arch behind the driver and passenger. 

The MX-5 RF has a two-piece roof and has the same amount of space when folded as a soft top, so boot space is unchanged from the base version at 127 liters. The transformation of the top takes twelve seconds, the process can be started at speeds up to 10 km/h.

The engines of the targa are the same as those of the roadster: petrol aspirated Skyactiv-G with a volume of 1.5 (131 hp) and 2.0 l (184 hp). Gearboxes: six-speed "mechanics" and "automatic". In Ukraine, the model has been presented since 2020 in modifications with a 2.0-liter power unit, which, in combination with a manual transmission, allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds, and with an “automatic” - in 7.9 seconds.

The Mazda MX-5 is equipped with LED headlights, climate control, heated seats, push-button start, light and rain sensors, cruise control, keyless entry, a rearview camera, a multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto applications. In addition, the car is equipped with passive and active safety systems and an upgraded traffic control system. G-Vectoring Control Plus.
