Mazda3 2014 hatchback - front-wheel drive five-door hatchback C-class. The premiere of the third generation was held on different continents and in different cities almost simultaneously: on the evening of June 26, the new “troika” appeared before the public in London, Melbourne, New York, St. Petersburg and Istanbul.
The dimensions of the five-door did not change significantly: the length remained the same (4,460 mm), the width increased by 40 mm (1,795 mm), and the height decreased by 20 mm (1,740 mm). To increase comfort, the wheelbase was stretched to 2,700 mm, and the front and rear overhangs were “cut” for the sake of practicality.
It is noteworthy that thanks to new welding methods, as well as an increased proportion of heavy-duty steel, body rigidity has increased by 30 percent compared to its predecessor.
The ground clearance of the new Mazda3 is 155 mm.
The trio was designed by Mazda stylist Koji Tabata. It is worth noting that in terms of showiness, the new Mazda3 is not inferior to the older one. "six" : complex optics, a large false radiator grille and a dynamic silhouette, which, even in a standing state, really resembles a predator preparing to jump, which the company likes to talk about so much.
The basic list of Mazda3 passive and active safety systems includes front, side and curtain airbags, ABS, EBD, emergency braking assistance systems, dynamic stabilization, and traction control.
The top versions of the model are equipped with a complex of preventive security systems i-ActivSense. It includes:
- automatic braking system at low speeds Smart City Brake Support (SCBS), which works in the range from 4 to 30 km / h;
- control of "blind" zones Rear Vihicle Monitoring (RVM);
- lane departure warning system Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), which works only at high speeds, starting from 65 km / h;
- a system for automatically turning on the "emergency gang" in case of emergency braking from a speed of 50 km / h and above Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), thanks to which other drivers will pay attention to an abruptly stopping car earlier;
- automatic switching system from high beam to low beam High Beam Control (HBC);
- adaptive head lighting system Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS), which corrects the angles of the beams of light during turns;
- Hill start assist system Hill Launch Assist (HLA), which prevents rollbacks.
Multimedia, including a 7-inch color display, has received a new "joystick" that facilitates intuitive control of the entertainment system. The new Mazda3 has learned not only to synchronize with many smartphones, but also to perform voice commands and even read SMS messages aloud. For a surcharge for the hatchback, premium acoustics from BOSE with 9 speakers are also provided.
But the projection display (Active Driving Display), which is usually the prerogative of cars in a class, or even two higher. An additional transparent screen on the driver's side displays the main indicators of the "tidy" and "bortovik", thereby allowing you to be less distracted from the road.
In addition to everything, Mazda3 received a new range of atmospheric power plants of the SkyActive family. The initial versions of the model are based on the SkyActiv-G 1.5 gasoline engine. Maximum power of 120 hp the motor produces at 6,000 rpm, and a peak thrust of 150 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine is aggregated only with a manual gearbox for six gears. To "hundreds" Mazda3 with such a power plant accelerates in 10.8 seconds.
For medium and top trim levels, there are two modifications of the SkyActiv-G 2.0 gasoline engine (for 120 and 165 hp). At the same time, the maximum thrust in both cases is the same - 210 Nm, available at four thousand engine revolutions per minute. Nevertheless, the two-liter unit comes in one version - 150 hp.
Paired with a 120-horsepower power plant, a six-speed "mechanics" and "automatic" can work. In the first case, the hatchback accelerates to a hundred kilometers per hour in 8.9 seconds, and in the second - in 10.4. Version with forced up to 165 hp the engine picks up a “hundred” in 8.2 seconds and can only be aggregated with a manual gearbox.
An alternative to gasoline engines is the SkyActiv-D 2.2 turbodiesel (150 hp, 380 Nm). Paired with a motor, both "mechanics" and "automatic" can work. The maximum traction available almost from the very bottom (from 1,800 rpm) turns the diesel “troika” into the most dynamic version of the model. On the "handle" from 0 to 100 km / h, the five-door accelerates in 8.1 seconds, and on the "automatic" - in 9.7.
For the model, 9 color options are available, the dimensions of the rims vary from 16 to 18 inches, the interior trim can be made of black fabric, as well as light or dark leather with contrasting stitching. Serial production of Mazda3 has been established in Japan.
