Mazda3 hatchback - the updated "troika" of the third generation by Mazda introduced summer 2016. In the autumn of the same year, cars debuted on the Ukrainian market.
As in the case with sedan From the outside, the reformed car is almost indistinguishable from the pre-facelift version - only a more expressive radiator grille, new headlights, smaller fog lights with LED elements and modified front and rear bumpers give out a new thing. Inside, it meets a new steering wheel and dashboard with a large tachometer well in the center and on-board computer displays spaced apart on the sides. Instead of a handbrake, an electromechanical parking brake key appeared, and the top-end Mazda 3 received adaptive LED headlights, a color projection display and an upgraded automatic braking system with a camera instead of a laser. She learned to recognize pedestrians and works in a wider range of speeds - instead of the previous 4-30 km / h, now 4-80 km / h for cars and 10-80 km / h for pedestrians.
But the main innovation, due to which the Mazda 3 even changed its designation from BM to BN (although it retained the same platform and wheelbase), was the introduction of a proprietary ride comfort system. G-Vectoring Control (GVC). It combines the previously disparate functions of monitoring the operation of the engine, transmission and chassis. In fact, this is a traction control system, moreover, in the longitudinal and transverse position. Every five milliseconds, the electronics compares the steering wheel angle with the position of the gas pedal and the developed speed and, based on the data obtained, slightly reduces (up to 30 Nm in turns and up to 10 Nm on straight lines) by changing the ignition timing, the torque supply to wheels. So, if necessary, the drive wheels are “loaded” by 10-20 kg, respectively, a reliable grip is maintained and the number of unconscious steering is reduced for the driver. As Mazda explained, the GVC system gives the car a more driving character and makes long-distance trips less tiring.
The engines have not changed - the entire European range includes three gasoline units and two diesel units: Skyactiv-G 1.5 (100 hp) and 2.0 (120 or 165 hp), as well as "heavy fuel" Skyactiv-D 1.5 (105 hp) .s.) and 2.2 (150 hp). Turbodiesels have changed the control program (reduced response time to pressing the gas pedal) and the design of the connecting rod and piston group (reduced noise). In Japan, where the Mazda3 is sold under the name Axela, there is also a hybrid version with a two-liter engine and an electromechanical transmission from the Toyota Prius hatchback.
The updated Mazda3 is delivered to Ukraine with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine. Its power is 120 hp and the torque is 150 Nm. The power units of cars of the 2017 model year complied with Euro-5 environmental standards, and starting from MY 2018. were upgraded to Euro 6. The basic version of the car is equipped with a 6-speed “mechanics”, an alternative to which is an “automatic” of a similar range. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h takes 10.5 seconds on a car with a manual transmission and 11.8 seconds on a three-pedal version, and passport fuel consumption is declared at 6.4-6.5 l / 100 km on a combined cycle.
Already in the basic equipment of the Mazda3, the hatchback is equipped with heating, electrically adjustable and electrically folding side mirrors, LED fog lights, headlight washers, dual-zone climate control, as well as heated front seats and steering wheel. Also installed are 6 airbags, active safety systems from the i-ActiveSense kit, the G-Vectoring Control system, a multimedia system with a 7-inch color display and other equipment.
The Mazda3 hatchback is produced in Japan.
