Mazda3 MPS - a "charged" C-class hot hatch, the premiere of the second generation of which took place in 2009.
Compared to the first generation Mazda3 MPS, it began to look much more aggressive, and behave more noble thanks to the new electronics. In front, the “troika” was adorned with a complex false radiator grille and a “nostril” on the hood, and behind the five-door was armed with a “double-barreled” exhaust and a noticeably enlarged spoiler.
The front air intake and rear “wing”, which gave the hatchback a sporty look, among other things, slightly worsened the drag coefficient from 0.31 to 0.32. Nevertheless, as compensation, the “troika” began to behave more stable at high speeds. It's all about the increased downforce, which is precisely what the external decor provides.
Inside, the car is decorated with red scales for the tachometer and speedometer, as well as red thread stitching on the seats. And even the fabric, combined with the skin, is decorated with soft red tints.
The engine remained the same - a gasoline "four" with direct injection and a turbocharger. The unit with a working volume of 2,261 cubic centimeters produces 260 hp. (at 5,500 rpm) and 380 Nm of torque (at 3,000 rpm).
As a gearbox for the Mazda3 MPS, only a six-speed "mechanics" is available. To make the temperament of the "troika" more restrained, the torque in the first three gears is under the vigilant control of electronics, which corrects traction and prevents dangerous slips. In addition, the front-wheel drive car also helps to cope with the power of the cross-axle differential, which effectively fights understeer and allows you to take corners at a higher speed.
To accelerate to "hundreds" hatchback takes only 6.1 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
In 2012, the model was slightly retouched. The five-door received black mirror housings, as well as dark gray rims.
